You can talk about money and know while he'll be reasonable and responsible about it. More importantly still, they are driven to do so. Using actual words. He can cook himself a meal and talk his apartment. It is an absolutely magical, unprecedentedly wonderful experience to be with one of these emotionally stable and mentally secure individuals.
He embraces your crazy side. A real man understands that being human means being a little bit crazy. A real man is confident enough to not be threatened by guy friends. He has a good work ethic. He has a job and he shows up every day, on time. He understands that time of the month. A real man buys you chocolate and tampons when you run out and is always happy to split a pizza with you and veg out on the couch. He lets you hold the popcorn bowl. This might sound funny, but it has so much meaning. He has a strong relationship with his family. He understands the importance of family ties and works to maintain them, no matter how busy he gets. In this case, a real man understands he needs boundaries with toxic people. Sure, date two might stir some caution from him, but ultimately, he understands that ALL people who want these things are going to talk about them. While you both have hobbies that are uniquely your own, he loves learning about what makes you tick.
You know where you stand. Texting with him is peaceful. Sometimes you have conversations. Sometimes you make plans. He calls his mom. He has interests. Like actual interests. Not beer darts or meeting women. He reads the newspaper or books, and when you ask him his opinion on something, he has an answer.
If he disagrees with you he can tell you that. He assumes you want to engage with him rather than assuming you are a piece of glass that will shatter at the slightest disturbance. He encourages you to grow how to know youre dating a grown man try new activities.
He tells you. With words. And you have a conversation and figure out a solution. Process every stage of your breakup: shock, denial, grief, sadness, insecurity, and anger while feeling supported and loved through your pain.
